Storm Response: Power Fully Restored to Members

Severe storms moved through the Lake Region territory, causing widespread damage and leaving nearly 1,000 members without power at the peak of the outage. Thanks to the swift response and dedication of our crews and key staff, service has now been fully restored in roughly 24 hours.

Restoration efforts began overnight as crews were dispatched around midnight to assess damage and begin repairs. Early reports showed approximately 868 members without power, primarily in areas south of Tahlequah and around Keys. As daylight approached, crews continued making steady progress, reducing outages to around 220 members by 7 a.m.

Damage assessments revealed several large downed trees and multiple broken poles. Throughout the day, crews worked tirelessly to rebuild infrastructure and clear debris. By mid-afternoon, outages had been reduced to approximately 30 members, with around 10 broken poles already replaced and significant clearing completed.

Restoration work continued into the evening, focusing on smaller, individual service locations that often take additional time to repair. Crews also remained on standby, closely monitoring the potential for additional storms in the area.

In total, our linemen replaced 19 broken poles and cleared countless trees and debris from power lines. Their commitment, long hours, and focus on safety ensured that power was restored as quickly and efficiently as possible.

At this time, only a small number of members remain without power due to safety issues on their side of the meter. We are standing by and ready to restore service as soon as those repairs are completed.

We are incredibly proud of our crews and their relentless effort to serve our members. Their dedication reflects the heart of what it means to be a cooperative—neighbors helping neighbors, no matter the conditions.
