 Average Monthly Billing

A chart that shows how a member's electric bill stays relatively the same on a month to month basis.

With Average Monthly Billing, you will know what to expect on your electric bill because the amount will be approximately the same month after month -- even throughout peak cooling and heating periods. It does not reduce your electric bill but will smooth out your charges and help you manage your electric bill.

With our Average Monthly Plan, your electric bill is calculated by adding your current actual electric bill to your previous 11 months total and dividing by 12. The purpose is to help make your electric service costs more convenient to budget because you receive approximately the same size bill each month. This plan is especially valuable for anyone on a budget or limited income.

  • Members must have had electric service at the location you are requesting average monthly billing for 12 months before you can be eligible.
  • Account must have a zero balance before you can be added to average monthly billing.
  • If you pay only your budgeted amount every month and do not monitor your total energy usage, you may have a large bill (balance forward) during the once a year catch-up month. May of each year will be a catch-up month. If you have paid more than what you have used, your account will be credited for the over-payment. If you have used more than what you paid, your account will be charged for the difference. This process will repeat every year.

There is no charge for using the Average Monthly Billing Plan. This is a service that we provide to our members to make it easier to budget their electric bills. Enjoy the peace of mind that comes from planning.
