Safety First: Hands-On Training Prepares Lake Region Crews

Safety first, ALWAYS at Lake Region Electric Cooperative!

The Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives (OAEC) recently joined Lake Region for hands-on bucket rescue and escape training with our electric and fiber lineworkers, as well as members of our Right-of-Way crews.

The training provided employees with an opportunity to practice critical rescue and emergency escape techniques that could make a difference when every second counts. By working through real-world scenarios, our crews can build the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to respond safely and effectively in an emergency.

This training is also Cooperative Principle #5, Education, Training, and Information, in action. Cooperatives are committed to providing employees, leaders and members with opportunities to learn and grow so they can contribute effectively to the cooperative and the communities it serves.

At Lake Region, investing in our employees goes hand in hand with our commitment to safety. Continued education and hands-on training help us build a safer, stronger cooperative and better serve our members every day.
