People Behind Your Power: Meet Steve, Meter Technician Supervisor
Meet Steve!
Steve has been a part of the Lake Region family for over 39 years and serves as our Meter Technician Supervisor. Throughout his career, he has seen firsthand how the cooperative has grown and adapted, especially when it comes to technology.
When asked what first brought him to Lake Region, Steve kept it simple: a good, stable job. That decision turned into a decades-long career built on consistency, dedication, and pride in the work.
Over the years, Steve has experienced major changes in the industry. One of the most significant was the transition from analog to digital meters and the move to computer-based systems. Early in his career, there were very few computer terminals, and most tasks were completed using pencil, paper, and adding machines. Today, technology plays a central role in ensuring accuracy and efficiency across the system.
What has kept Steve at Lake Region for nearly four decades is the positive work environment. That strong sense of teamwork and support continues to be a driving force behind his long-standing commitment to the cooperative.
For those just starting their careers, Steve offers straightforward advice: show up, work hard, and listen. It is a mindset that has clearly served him well.
Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time camping, biking, and jeeping. When he needs a quick snack on a busy day, he reaches for almonds and veggies. If his career had a walk-out song, he says it would be “Goodness of God” by CeCe Winans.
One thing many may not know about Steve is his incredible resilience. He is a colon cancer survivor of more than 35 years, a testament to his strength and perseverance.
Steve’s dedication, experience, and positive attitude have made a lasting impact at Lake Region, and we are proud to have him as part of our team.
