Lake Region Lights Up the Holidays with Inaugural Light Contest
Lake Region Lights Up the Holidays with Inaugural Light Contest
This holiday season, Lake Region Electric Cooperative and Lake Region Fiber were proud to launch the inaugural Lake Region Light Contest, inviting members to show off their Christmas spirit by lighting up their homes and businesses for all to enjoy. From bold, music-filled displays with inflatables to timeless scenes glowing with twinkling lights, our communities truly embraced the joy of the season. Participants had the chance to compete for a $100 Visa gift card and year-long bragging rights, all while spreading holiday cheer throughout the Lake Region service area. Many contestants chose to share their hard work even further by having their displays featured on the Lake Region Christmas Lights Map, creating the Lake Region Light Trail for families and friends to enjoy throughout the season.

How the Contest Worked
The contest was open to Lake Region Electric Cooperative members and Lake Region Fiber customers and was free to enter. Participants submitted photos of their displays online by December 15, 2025, and entries were judged on the following criteria:
-
Use of lights
-
Creativity
-
Design and theme
-
Overall presentation
Displays were required to include Christmas lights (traditional, LED, or projected). Additional decorations such as inflatables, yard ornaments, and animations were encouraged. Participants could decorate on their own or with help from friends, family, or professionals.
To ensure fairness and fun, entries were evaluated by East Central Electric Cooperative. The winner was announced on December 17, 2025, and we are excited to congratulate Jeanette Dyer, the 2025 Lake Region Light Contest winner.
Jeanette’s display featured hundreds of lights, a brightly lit rooster, candy cane reindeer, Santa, and a Christmas tree. Her sidewalk was lined with beautiful white snowflakes, and her porch dazzled with classic white twinkling lights, creating a welcoming and magical holiday scene. Jeanette received a $100 prize along with well-earned bragging rights for the year.
Thank You for Sharing the Spirit
We extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who participated, voted, and shared their holiday displays. The inaugural Lake Region Light Contest was a wonderful reminder of the creativity, pride, and festive spirit that make our communities shine.
We look forward to lighting up Lake Region again next season!
