Gary Cooper Earns NRECA Director Gold Credential
Lake Region Electric Cooperative is proud to recognize Trustee Gary Cooper for earning the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) Director Gold Credential, one of the highest educational achievements available to electric cooperative directors.
The Director Gold Credential is awarded to directors who have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to continuing their education beyond the Credentialed Cooperative Director and Board Leadership Certificate programs. The credential recognizes board members who are dedicated to expanding their knowledge, strengthening their leadership abilities, and fulfilling their fiduciary responsibilities to the highest standard.
Electric cooperative trustees play a vital role in guiding the cooperative's long-term success. Through continuing education, they stay informed about the rapidly changing electric industry, governance best practices, emerging technologies, and the issues that impact the members they serve.
The achievement also reflects one of the seven Cooperative Principles that guide electric cooperatives worldwide: Cooperative Principle #5 – Education, Training, and Information. By pursuing advanced educational opportunities, cooperative leaders are better equipped to make informed decisions that benefit the membership and ensure the long-term success of the cooperative.
Congratulations to Gary Cooper on this outstanding accomplishment, and thank you for your continued dedication, service, and leadership to the members of Lake Region Electric Cooperative.
