Help Us Keep Power Lines Clear and Your Power Reliable
Vegetation management is an important part of providing safe, reliable and affordable electricity to Lake Region Electric Cooperative (LREC) members. Keeping trees, branches and other vegetation a safe distance from power lines helps reduce the risk of outages and protects the equipment that delivers electricity to homes and businesses throughout our service area.
Severe weather can cause significant damage in a matter of minutes. High winds, ice and storms can send overgrown limbs or entire trees into power lines, damaging poles, lines and other equipment. Regular right-of-way maintenance helps prevent some of these problems before they happen and allows our crews to access equipment more safely and efficiently when outages occur.
Vegetation management also helps control costs. Repairing damaged equipment requires time, materials and resources. As a member-owned cooperative, those costs ultimately impact our members. Taking preventive measures helps protect both the reliability and affordability of your electric service.
Our members play an important role in helping us identify potential problems. If you notice a tree or branches growing too close to, touching or interfering with LREC power lines or equipment, please let us know. Reporting these concerns allows our crews to evaluate potential hazards and address them before they lead to an outage.
You can report trees or vegetation concerns by calling 918-772-2526 or submitting a Request Tree Work form on our website at www.lrecok.coop/right-of-way.
Please remember to never attempt to trim or remove trees near power lines yourself. Leave that work to trained professionals.
A little prevention can make a big difference! By working together to keep our rights-of-way clear, we can help reduce outages, protect equipment and keep your power reliable.
