Electric Cooperatives of Green Country Gather at Lake Region for Legislative Dinner
The Electric Cooperatives of Green Country came together at Lake Region Electric Cooperative for an evening of conversation, connection and appreciation for the legislators and congressional staff who serve our communities. Employees, CEOs and board members representing Cookson Hills Electric Cooperative, East Central Electric Cooperative, Indian Electric Cooperative, Kiamichi Electric Cooperative, Ozarks Electric Cooperative, Verdigris Valley Electric Cooperative and Lake Region Electric Cooperative gathered for the annual legislative dinner. The evening provided an opportunity for cooperative leaders to visit with state and federal leaders, discuss the needs of the communities they serve and strengthen relationships that help keep the voices of electric cooperative members part of important conversations.
We were honored to welcome Representative Kevin Norwood, Representative Jim Olsen, Representative Mark Lepak, Representative Bob Ed Culver, Representative Scott Fetgatter and Senator Tom Woods. Nathan Dethloff, Field Representative for Congressman Frank Lucas, and Tamara Bryan, Field Representative for Congressman Josh Brecheen, also joined the evening. Electric cooperatives are deeply connected to the communities they serve. Maintaining strong relationships with elected leaders gives cooperatives an opportunity to share firsthand the issues affecting rural Oklahoma, our members and the communities we call home. The evening was also a reflection of the cooperative spirit. While each cooperative serves its own members and communities, working together allows Oklahoma’s electric cooperatives to share ideas, build relationships and advocate for the needs of cooperative members across the region.
