Lake Region Electric Cooperative (LREC) offers residential and commercial security lighting options to help members illuminate outdoor spaces and enjoy added peace of mind after dark. Whether you're lighting a driveway, yard, parking area or business property, security lighting can help improve visibility and make navigating your property after sunset easier.

Residential Security Lighting

LREC offers 7,000-lumen security lights for $11.60 per month, making it an affordable option for homeowners looking to add outdoor lighting.

These lights operate automatically using a photocell that turns the light on when it gets dark and off when daylight returns. LREC furnishes the electricity needed to operate the light, so its usage is included in the monthly security light charge rather than your home's metered electric usage.

LREC also maintains the light and performs necessary repairs when notified by the member.

Commercial Security Lighting

Businesses and commercial properties often need additional lighting for parking areas, entrances, equipment and other outdoor spaces.

LREC offers 20,000-lumen commercial security lights for $35.30 per month. Like residential lights, these lights operate automatically from dusk to dawn, with electricity and routine maintenance provided by LREC.

Commercial security lighting can help improve visibility for employees, customers and visitors while providing additional illumination around business properties.

What Members Should Know

Both residential and commercial security lighting services include the following terms:

Installation: LREC installs the light at a member-designated location within 100 feet of an existing LREC secondary line.
Additional Facilities: If additional poles or facilities are required, the member is responsible for the associated material and labor costs.
Transformer Installation: Members requiring service from an existing primary line will be charged an additional $35 for transformer installation.
Maintenance: LREC maintains the lights and performs necessary repairs upon notification.
Contract Terms: Security lighting requires a three-year agreement, with the option to renew annually by mutual consent. Early cancellation fees apply based on the monthly rate and the number of months remaining in the agreement.
Damage or Theft: Members may be responsible for the replacement cost if a light is stolen or damaged by causes other than an act of God.
