AECI Has Declared an

Energy Emergency Alert Level 2

Associated Electric Cooperative Inc., the wholesale power generator for Lake Region Electric Cooperative, has issued an Energy Emergency Alert Level 2, which means conditions caused by (insert details... the weather, etc.) have led Associated to seek voluntary energy conservation from member systems. 

Associated has issued the EEA Level 2 because it may not be able to meet expected energy requirements and is asking for voluntary energy conservation to prevent escalation to Level 3 conditions. Associated has implemented its operating plan to mitigate emergencies. Associated is still able to maintain its minimum contingency reserve requirements. 

Your electric cooperative is asking for voluntary energy conservation, including (insert details… adjusting thermostats a few degrees, limiting use of large appliances, turning off/unplugging devices, etc.) 

As a balancing authority of the bulk electric system, Associated is required to issue emergency energy alerts when situations arise as defined by the North American Electric Reliability Corp.
